April 10, 2007 — GAC Kenny Chesney does not rest on his laurels. He's already begun programming the lights and working on the video screens for his upcoming "Flip Flop Summer Tour" in January. To give the fans something they'd never seen before, Kenny bought himself a new toy called the "Control Freak."
"We can do things we'd never considered before, from something as simple as running the schematic of Clayton's guitar solo across the screen to having live stuff inside computer generated graphics, stacking different images," he says. "The evolution of what you can do is incredible — and we're lucky to have people who're willing to explore what's possible with us."
Kenny says the best thing about the machine is that it's adaptable, so fans will get just as much impact no matter where they see the tour. Kenny starts playing a mix of stadiums, arenas and amphitheaters on Thursday. Complete air scheduled for Kenny Chesney Phases & Stages: The Flip Flop Summer Tour (all times ET) PHASE ONE: Premiere: April 21 (9 p.m.) Re-air: April 22 (1 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.); April 24 (8 p.m. and Midnight)
